A Book in Order earns commissions from the buy buttons on this site. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a percentage. You pay the same price either way — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your wallet.

What commissions don't affect

This matters more than the disclosure itself. Reading orders are generated from publication dates, not from what pays best. Specifically:

• No book is added, removed or moved because of a commission rate.
• Order is publication order. It isn't reordered to favour in-stock titles.
• Retailer buttons appear in the same order on every page, regardless of which pays most.
• We're not paid by any author or publisher to feature a series.

Why several retailers

Different books suit different shops: out-of-print titles are often cheapest used, and some readers would rather buy from an independent bookshop than Amazon. Listing four lets you choose. We have no way of knowing which you'll pick and no reason to care.

How links are marked

Every affiliate link carries rel="sponsored nofollow", which tells search engines the link is commercial. A short disclosure appears in the footer of every page on the site.
